On holding a regional UNECE workshop in Minsk on the development of national single window mechanisms

On 10-11 December 2018, the Regional Workshop “Single Window: interoperability, data exchange and digital commerce” took place in Minsk. The workshop was organized by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Ministry of Communications of Belarus in cooperation with UNECE Secretariat and UN/CEFACT.

Representatives of the line state authorities of Belarus, including the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Communications, the State Customs Committee, as well as experts from the UNECE, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and the member States of the Eurasian Economic Union participated in the workshop.

 

The key topic of the discussions at the workshop was devoted to elaboration of efficient mechanisms for the functioning of the single window system in international trade, managing data exchange and harmonization processes, ensuring consistency of information. Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan presented their experience in this area. Experts of the Center for Identification Systems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus presented the results of a research project conducted in cooperation with UNECE on the description of the reference model of the national single window mechanism in the system of regulation of foreign trade activities.

The results of the workshop will be used in the joint work of UNECE and UN/CEFACT with the participation of experts from EAEU member States aimed to improve data exchange standards in digital trade.
