On the participation of the Belarusian delegation in the activities of the UNECE in the field of statistics

On 15 – 18 April 2019, the third Meeting of the Group of Experts and a seminar on National Accounts on Statistics in the field of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) took place in Geneva under the auspices of the UNECE.

Belarus was represented by the Deputy Chairperson of the National Statistical Committee, the Head of the Interministrial Working Group on Monitoring and Evaluation the achievement of the SDGs of the Council on Sustainable Development Ms. Elena Kukharevich.

The meeting reviewed the implementation of the Roadmap on Statistics for the SDGs of the Conference of European Statisticians, including the exchange of data on the global SDG statistics, ensuring data compatibility. During the session “Efficient dissemination of SDG statistics”, Ms. Elena Kukharevich presented the best practices of Belarus in creating a national reporting platform for SDGs indicators.

At the seminar, Elena Kukharevich presented a report on the organization of specialized studies of vulnerable groups in the context of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The representative of Belarus held a number of bilateral meetings at the UNECE Secretariat as well as the heads of the national delegations of participating countries on further directions for development of expert and technical cooperation on SDGs implementation.
