On the session of the Council of the International Telecommunication Union

On April 17, 2018, the Council of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) began its work at the ITU headquarters in Geneva. During the session, the draft strategic and financial plans of the Union for the period up to 2023 and the operational plans of the ITU Radiocommunication, Standardization and Development Sectors for the period until 2022 are to be reviewed.

In addition, the Council will review the reports of its working and expert groups, including on the issue of coexistence of the two versions of the International Telecommunication Regulations, the protection of children online, progress in building a global information society, as well as the ITU regional presence, ITU activities in the field of the Internet, issues related to the management of the organization and progress in preparations for the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (October 29 — November 16, 2018, Dubai, United Arab Emirates).

The Belarusian delegation takes part in the session of the Council at the level of the Permanent Mission in Geneva.
