On the participation of the representatives of Belarus in the tenth meeting of the Task Force on Access to Justice under the Aarhus Convention

 On February 27-28, 2018, the tenth meeting of the Task Force on Access to Justice under the Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters (Aarhus Convention) was held in Geneva.

The thematic segments of the meeting were attended by the head of the organizational support directorate of the Secretariat of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Karavai and the head of the legal informatization department of the National Center for Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Brausov.

Relevant information on the measures taken by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus to protect the citizens' right to environmental information, as well as on the role of the national system of access to legal information for the effective promotion of justice was provided at the meeting.

The Task Force on Access to Justice under the Aarhus Convention is an important UNECE regional platform for the exchange of information, experience and best practices related to ensuring citizens' rights to access to justice in environmental matters.
