The Permanent Representative of Belarus in Geneva Y.Ambrazevich met with the WIPO Director General

On October 10, 2017 the Permanent Representative of Belarus to the United Nations Office in Geneva Yury Ambrazevich met with the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Francis Gurry. The meeting was also attended by the Director General of the National Center for Intellectual Property of Belarus Piotr Brovkin.

Yury Ambrazevich informed about the efforts made by the Government of Belarus to improve the national intellectual property system and thanked the WIPO for the provided technical assistance. He expressed the interest in increasing the representation of Belarusian experts in the secretariat of the Organization.

The parties discussed the initiative of the Permanent Mission of Belarus in Geneva to co-organize in 2018 the exhibition of national ornaments of the Member States of the Organization on the margins of one of the WIPO committees.

At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached on organizing an official visit of the WIPO Director General to Belarus in the 4th quarter of 2018.
