On the statement of Mr Yury Ambrazevich, Permanent Representative of Belarus in Geneva, at the UNCTAD World Investment Forum
26.10.2018On October 26, 2018, during the final event of the UNCTAD World Investment Forum Mr Yury Ambrazevich, Permanent Representative of Belarus in Geneva, took part in a discussion on the subject of investments to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.
The representative of Belarus stressed the unique role that the international community can play in Geneva for bringing together investment flows and the SDGs and supported the creation of a Group of Friends of Investments for Sustainable Development Goals on the basis of UNCTAD that would unite representatives of diplomatic missions in Geneva, international organizations and private businesses.
Such Group can be a comfortable platform for regular discussion and the formation of specific proposals for improving investment policy in general and in particular sectors of the economy with an emphasis on the sustainable development of all countries, including the Republic of Belarus.
