On the Participation of the Belarusian Delegation at the Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week

The UN Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week was held in Geneva from February 3 to 7, 2020.

The participants of the Week came together to exchange their experience on emergencies preparedness and response, to strengthen multilateral interagency cooperation and coordination among search and rescue teams in case of emergencies.

The delegation of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of Belarus headed by Dmitry Tkachuk, Head of the International Cooperation Department, took part in the events of the Week.

Belarus is an active member of the United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) and of the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG). The Republican Special Purpose Unit of the Ministry of Emergencies of Belarus is among the most qualified units accredited by the INSARAG methodology. Representatives of Belarus participated in the meetings of the governing bodies of UNDAC and INASARAG.

During the Week Belarusian delegation has also met the representatives of the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, International Civil Defense Organization to discuss the current state and possible areas of future cooperation, including organization of joint events.
