On the participation of Belarus in the meeting of the UNECE Working Party Land Administration
01.03.2019On 27 – 28 February 2019, the 11th session of the UNECE Working Group on Land Administration took place in Geneva. Belarus at the session was represented by the delegation of the National Cadastre Agency headed by General Director Mr. Andrei Filipenko.
At the meeting, participants discussed current trends affecting land administration, including the processes of urbanization, migration, and the introduction of modern technologies. Participants reviewed the development of cooperation among the authorized organizations of the UNECE region to establish recommendations on effective land management and administration to support the 2030 Agenda.
The Belarusian delegation took an active part in consideration of the UNECE review on land policy in Belarus. International experts note the positive experience of our country in conducting land valuation and its measuring, as well as the real estate registration system.
During the meeting, Director General Andrei Filipenko was elected to the bureau of the Working Party for 2019–2021, which will allow Belarus to actively use the potential of the UNECE to share best practices on land administration issues.
