On the meeting of the First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus with the UNECE Executive Secretary
06.02.2018On February 5, 2018 in Geneva, the meeting of the First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus Iya Malkina with the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Olga Algayerova was held.
The participants discussed a wide range of issues of interaction on environmental issues, including the implementation of environmental conventions under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and interaction within the UNECE Committee on Environmental Policy.
The sides noted the high results of Belarus in implementing the recommendations of the UNECE environmental performance reviews (EPRs), as well as the important contribution of the environmental component to the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
An arrangement to continue and strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus and the Executive Secretariat of the UNECE was reached.
