On the appointment of the Permanent Representative of Belarus as the coordinator of the subsidiary body of the United Nations Conference on Disarmament

By the decision of the United Nations Conference on Disarmament (CD) of March 27, 2018, Yury Ambrazevich, Permanent Representative of Belarus to the United Nations Office in Geneva, was appointed as coordinator of the subsidiary body of the Conference on new types of weapons of mass destruction, comprehensive programme of disarmament and transparency in armaments.

Permanent Representatives of Indonesia, the Netherlands, Brazil and Germany were appointed coordinators of other subsidiary bodies of the CD, established in accordance with decision CD/2119 of 19 February 2018.

The work of the subsidiary bodies is aimed to facilitate the revitalization and resumption of the substantive work of the Conference.

The election of the representative of Belarus to the position of coordinator of one of the subsidiary bodies of the CD once again reconfirms the authority of Belarus as an active and consistent supporter of building a more secure world.
