On participation of the Belarusian delegation in the 19th session of the UNCTAD Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Competition Law and Policy

On July 7-9, 2021, the 19th session of the UNCTAD Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Competition Law and Policy is being held in Geneva.

A delegation of the Republic of Belarus headed by the First Deputy Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Mr. Ivan Vezhnovets is taking part in the session in a virtual format.

In his statement the head of the Belarusian delegation noted the contribution of UNCTAD to the development of antimonopoly legislation and its enforcement by the competition authorities in many countries, including the Republic of Belarus.

Ivan Vezhnovets informed about the state policy of Belarus in the field of competition, thanked the UNCTAD Secretariat for the prepared Review of Belarusian Competition Law, and also expressed support for the initiative to develop systematic guidelines and recommendations on international cooperation in the investigation of cross-border cartels.
