Belarus’ Delegation took part in UNAIDS’ PCB

On 24-25 of March 2021 the delegation of Belarus took part in a virtual format in the special session of the UNAIDS’ Program Coordinating Board.

For reference: The Republic of Belarus was elected to the PCB, the main governing body of UNAIDS, for a second consecutive term for the period 2020-2022. The UNAIDS seeks to mobilize and coordinate the work of relevant UN agencies, as well as governments, non-governmental organizations, private sector and academia to combat HIV / AIDS. The Council has approved the UNAIDS Global HIV Strategy 2021-2026.

The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Belarus in Geneva supported the UNAIDS Global Strategy actively participating in reaching a consensus decision on it.

During this session Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus Alexandr Tarasenko reaffirmed Belarus' commitment to implementing the goals and priorities set out in the Strategy. The representative of the Ministry of Health delivered a statement in which he elaborated on the Government’s efforts to combat HIV infection in the Republic of Belarus, provided for by the State Program “People's Health and Demographic Security” for 2021-2025.
