Belarus participates in the High-Level Segment of the Human Rights Council

 On March 5, 2015 Head of the Delegation of Belarus at the 28th session of the Human Rights Council, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus in Geneva spoke at the High-Level Segment of the session.

In light of the 70th Anniversary of the Victory in the World War II and 70th Anniversary of the United Nations the statement of Belarus take stock of the international cooperation on the human rights issues.

The Head of the Belarusian delegation stressed increasing confrontation in the work of the Human Rights Council and further divergence from the universally recognized human rights treaty obligations. It was recommended to the Council to observe strictly the main principals of its work, namely mutually respectful dialogue, strengthening of the international cooperation and capacity-building of states on the whole range of human rights.
