On the Meeting of the Group of Experts on Consumer Price Indices
11.05.2018On 7-9 May 2018, the Meeting of the Group of Experts on Consumer Price Indices, which was organized under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the International Labor Organization, took place in Geneva.
The Belarusian delegation was headed by Mr. Aleksey Yarokovets, the Head of the Price Statistics Department of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus.
The Agenda of the Meeting was devoted to methodological issues of compiling the consumer price indices, the use of data sources for its compilation, as well as issues of the consumer needs assessment. A separate session was organized for the countries of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia and South-Eastern Europe, which addressed issues on methodological and practical difficulties in indices development, as well as issues on the elaboration of a harmonized consumer price indices for the CIS Member States.
The Belarusian delegation shared the national experience and best practices in compiling the consumer price indices.
