Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr. Andrei Dapkiunas met the UNICEF Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia

On February 26, 2019 in Geneva, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Ькю Andrei Dapkunas met with Ms. Afshan Khan, the UNICEF Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia and the Special Coordinator for Refugees and Migrants Crisis in Europe.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation between Belarus and UNICEF at the national and international levels.

A.Khan welcomed the commitment of Belarus to transparent cooperation with UNICEF and noted the significant achievements of the country, especially in the field of children's health and education. The Regional Director expressed her willingness to continue to provide the necessary assistance to the Government in strengthening the national policy related to needs and rights of the child.

In his turn, A.Dapkyunas expressed satisfaction with the active position of the UNICEF regional and country offices in attracting, in close partnership with the state authorities, international best practices aimed at ensuring the truly sustainable development of society, its institutions and the implementation of the concept at ensuring the rights and needs of every citizen and every child.
