On Belarus’ participation of in the session of UNECE Working Party on Public-Private Partnerships
06.12.2019On 3 – 4 December 2019, the 3rd session of the UNECE Working Party on Public-Private Partnerships took place in Geneva. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Ms. Iryna Kalenchak, Director the Department of Investment Policy of the Ministry of Economy.
The Working Party discussed the application of the concept of “People first PPP Projects” when implementing the public-private partnerships projects, issues on the development and introduction of international standards, guidelines, declarations and recommendations in the area of PPP, which were elaborated by the Commission’s experts.
A separate segment was devoted to the issue on the possible creation of a People-first Project Facilitation and Competency Building hub with an emphasis on the concept of “People first PPP Projects”.
During the session Belarus was elected as Vice-Chairman of the Bureau of the Working Group, which will allow to more actively promote Belarus’ initiatives in the field of PPP at the UNECE.
