On the participation of the Belarusian delegation in the meeting of the WIPO Working Group on the Development of the Hague System for the International Registration of Industrial Designs
20.07.2018On 16 – 18 July 2018, the 7th session of the Working Group of Legal Development of the Hague System for the International Registration of Industrial Designs, which was organized under the auspices of the World Intellectual Property Organization, was held in Geneva. Belarus was represented by Ms. Tatyana Kovalevskaya, Head of the Law and Treaties Department of the National Center for Intellectual Property participated in the session.
A number of relevant for Belarus issues, related to functioning of the Hague system and further it development were considered at the session.
The Belarusian delegation made a presentation in support of the inclusion of the Russian language in the list of official languages of the Hague system (currently English, French and Spanish are official languages of the Hague system).
Tatyana Kovalevskaya also briefed the participants of the Working Group on the consideration by the authorized bodies of Belarus of the possibility of the Belarus‘ participation in the Hague Agreement on the International Registration of Industrial Designs.
On 19 July 2018, WIPO organized seminar The Hague System for the International Registration of Industrial Designs: A Practical Approach and Tips for the Effective Use of a Constantly Developing System, which was related to the benefits of the Hague system, new tools for its users, and the accession of new countries to the Hague system.
