On the meeting of the Permanent Representative of Belarus with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross
02.05.2018On May 2, 2018, the Permanent Representative of Belarus to the United Nations Office in Geneva Yury Ambrazevich held a meeting with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer.
During the meeting the parties discussed the implementation of the outcomes of the meeting of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko with Peter Maurer during the visit of the head of the ICRC to Minsk on November 7-9, 2017
The parties noted with satisfaction that the opening of the ICRC permanent mission in Minsk is expected in the near future. Expanding the presence of the International Committee in Belarus will strengthen the implementation of joint humanitarian projects.
Yury Ambrazevich and Peter Maurer also discussed ways of cooperation in the field of humanitarian demining and areas of cooperation on the Geneva international platform to be explored in perspective.
