On the participation of Belarus’ delegation in the meeting of the WTO Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures
03.11.2017The delegation of Belarus as an observer takes part in the meeting of the Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures of the World Trade Organization, which takes place on November 2-3, 2017 in Geneva.
The delegation includes the Deputy Director on Practical State Sanitary and Epidemiological Review of the “Scientific and Practical Center for Hygiene” Ekaterina Fedorenko, the Consultant of the International Cooperation Department of the Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Anna Sandul, as well as the representatives of the Permanent Mission of Belarus in Geneva.
The participants of the meeting have considered the information of the WTO members on national regimes in the field of sanitary, phytosanitary and veterinary measures (SPS measures), on the implementation of the provisions of the WTO SPS Agreement, international technical assistance and cooperation, as well as specific trade concerns of the WTO members.
Representatives of Belarus also held a meeting in the WTO Secretariat to discuss the preparation to the national WTO seminar on SPS to be held in 2018 in Minsk.
