Belarus’ Delegation Takes Part in WHO Excom’s 148th Session

The World Health Organization’s Executive Committee has been holding its 148th session by videoconference from 18 to 26 January 2021. The delegation of the Republic of Belarus, headed by H.E. Mr. Yury Ambrazevich, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the UN Office and Other International Organizations in Geneva, takes part in the event.

The session’s main objective is to finalize agenda for the World Health Assembly, to be held in May 2021, including through the adoption of decisions and resolutions that are to be forwarded to the Assembly for its endorsement, not least those related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the WHO reform.

On 18 January, the head of Belarus’ delegation delivered a statement. Yury Ambrazevich primarily dwelt on Belarus' approaches to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the Belarusian representative highlighted the leading role played by the World Health Organization in coordinating global efforts aimed at countering the spread of the coronavirus infection.
