On the participation of the Permanent Mission of Belarus in Geneva at the Charity Bazaar of the UN Women's Guild

On November 21, 2017, the staff of the Permanent Mission to the United Nations Office in Geneva together with their family members participated in the annual charity Bazaar organized by the UN Women's Guild.

Belarusian national souvenirs including items made of glass, linen, clay and straws, as well as Belarusian national dishes and drinks were proposed to Swiss and foreign guests of the Palais des Nations, where the Bazaar was held, to the Geneva public, employees of international organizations and diplomatic missions.

The UN Women's Guild Bazaar, which unites mainly the spouses of the heads of located in Geneva diplomatic missions of most countries of the world, is a traditional charity event which attracts more than 6,000 visitors annually. The money collected from the sales goes to financing humanitarian projects for disadvantaged children and women in difficult life situations around the world.

Following the Bazaar in 2016, the UN Women's Guild with the assistance of the Permanent Mission of Belarus in Geneva financed the purchase of sewing equipment for sewing training and securing employment for women living in the St. Elisabeth Convent in Minsk.
