Belarus National Day reception held in Geneva

On June 27, 2017, the Permanent Mission held a diplomatic reception on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus.

Heads and staff of the UN Office in Geneva, UNECE, UNCTAD, ITU, WIPO, WTO and other international organizations based in Switzerland, permanent representatives and the diplomatic corps of missions based in Geneva, as well as representatives of the Belarusian diaspora in Switzerland attended the reception.

Permanent Representative Yury Ambrazevich noted that Belarus remains a peace-loving state, building friendly relations that are not directed against anyone, providing peace, stability and security. He expressed his gratitude to the partners for supporting Belarus on international platforms and bilaterally.  

The reception was accompanied by a photo exhibition “Heritage and Tourism”. The dishes of Belarusian cuisine were served. Presentational publications in English and Russian were presented at information stands and coffee tables. A video demonstration about the economy, tourist potential and sights of Belarus was organized during the event.
