On the participation of Belarus delegation in events on the occasion of Victory Day
09.05.2019On May 9, 2019, the staff of the Permanent Mission of Belarus in Geneva and members of their families took part in a traditional event on the occasion of the 74rd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War – commemorative wreath-laying ceremony to the grave of Soviet soldiers who died during the Second World War and buried in the cemetery " Hernley “in the city of Basel.
Permanent Representative of Belarus in Geneva Yuri Ambrazevich and Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Belarus in Switzerland Pavel Matsukevich laid a wreath to the memorial on behalf of the Republic of Belarus.
The ceremony was also attended by representatives of diplomatic missions of the CIS countries in Switzerland.
Diplomats noted that in the context of the degradation of the international security system, nowadays it is more important than ever, taking into account the bitter lessons of history, to preserve that fragile framework of the system of interaction between countries to address key issues of peace and security.
