On the participation of the Belarusian delegation in the UNECE Conference of European Statisticians
21.06.2018On 18-20 June 2018, the 66th plenary session of the Conference of European Statisticians, which was organized under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, took place in Geneva.
Belarus was represented by Ms. Zhanna Vasilevskaya, Deputy Chairman of the National Statistics Committee.
During the session, a number of topical issues for the Republic of Belarus were considered, including expanding the coverage of national statistics, updating statistical reporting practices, establishing partnerships between statistical bodies, on the one hand, and respondents and users of statistics, on the other. A separate session was devoted to the development of statistical indicators that would reflect the level of implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals of at the regional and global levels.
Participants to the Conference adopted a number of fundamental documents and recommendations on the statistical recording of the movement of labor force, migration of the population, the calculation of employment of the population.
Participation in the session of the Conference of European Statisticians has a high practical significance for developing strategic directions for further development and improvement of the national statistical system of Belarus.
