On the participation of the Belarusian delegation in the International Forum on Public-Private Partnerships

On 7 – 9 May 2018, the International Forum on Public-Private Partnerships, which was organized under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) took place in Geneva.

Public-Private Partnership (PPP) is a model of long-term (10-30 years) cooperation between the state and business, which allows implementing important social projects through innovation, capital and private business resources. UNECE supports countries in identifying best practices in PPPs, developing international standards for PPPs, and participating in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of a PPP capacity building program.

Representatives of more than 30 countries and international organizations participated in the Forum. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Ms. Irina Kalenchak, Deputy Head of the Main Department for Investment Policy Department of the Ministry of Economy.

The agenda of the Forum was devoted to issues of building up an effective PPPs model, prioritizing and selecting projects for cooperation between the state and business.
