The head of the Belarusian delegation delivered a statement at the plenary session of the WIPO General Assembly on behalf of the Regional Group of Central Asian,
The statement underlined the need for the strengthening of the WIPO development and capacity-building activities, as well as the fact that these activities should respond to the needs of countries with economies in transition, to be aimed at bridging the gap in knowledge and technology, the modernization of infrastructure, to facilitate the access to specialized databases.
The statement also reflected the constructive position of the regional group in relation to the WIPO normative agenda, in particular, to the development of international treaties in the fields of industrial design law and the protection of broadcasting organizations
