On the participation of Belarus’ delegation in the World Bank's international forum “Energy subsidy reforms for a bright future”
01.11.2018On October 30-31, 2018, Belarus’ delegation led by Mr. Ivan Vezhnovets, Deputy Minister of Antimonopoly Regualtion and Trade, took part in the forum “Energy subsidies reform for a bright future” which was organized by the World Bank in Geneva.
During the event the participants had exchanged their views on energy sector reforms with an emphasis on fiscal and ecological aspects, pricing and social protection of population. Belarus will use the best practices on how to implement such reforms to improve the ongoing work on progressive elimination of cross-subsidies and to determine the most effective speed of its implementation.
On October 31, 2018, Mr. Ivan Vezhnovets met Ms. Teresa Moreira, Head of Competition and Consumer Policies Branch of UNCTAD. They discussed the analysis of Belarusian antimonopoly legislation, currently being performed by UNCTAD, and the programme of visit of Ms. Moreira to Minsk on November 5-6, 2018.
