On Belarusian-Swiss business forum

Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei headed Belarusian delegation at the Belarusian-Swiss business forum “Doing Business in Belarus”, which took place on 8 April 2019 in Genthod (Switzerland, Geneva canton).

 More than 60 representatives of Swiss and French enterprises, chambers of commerce, banks, investment funds, law firms, Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, and international economic organizations (WTO, UNCTAD, ITC) attended the event.

 The Belarusian delegation included Deputy Minister of Economy Elena Perminova, the management of National Agency of  Investment and Privatization, National Center for Marketing and Price Study, CJSC “Company for the development of the industrial park “Great Stone ”, Center for Identification Systems under the Academy of Sciences.

The forum was also attended by the honorary consuls of Belarus in Lausanne Andrey Nazheskin, in Zurich Atanasios Akratos, Lyon Jean Jacques Rinck and the honorary vice-consul in Biarritz Patrick Dours.

The Belarusian delegation has presented the macroeconomic conditions and the advantages of doing business in Belarus, its export and investment potential and the special conditions for investors in the Belarusian-Chinese “Great Stone” industrial park. The representatives of the Swiss companies “Stadler” and “AsstrA” informed the participants about the experience of running investment projects in Belarus.

On the margins of the forum, the National Agency of Investment and Privatization and the National Center for Marketing and Price Study have signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Swiss Joint Chamber of Commerce.

The event will promote trade, economic and investment cooperation between Belarus and Switzerland and will provide networking opportunities in order to attract Swiss business to the economy of Belarus.
