Participation of the Belarusian delegation in the meeting of the Committee on Innovation, Competitiveness and Public-Private Partnership of the UNECE
28.03.2019On 25 – 28 March 2019, the 13th session of UNECE Committee on Innovation, Competitiveness and Public-Private Partnership took place in Geneva.
Belarus at the session was represented by Ms. Iryna Kalenchak, Head of the Department of Investment Policy of the Ministry of Economy, and Mr. Sergei Shlychkou, Director of the Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support to the Scientific and Technical Sphere.

Participants discussed issues related to the development of public-private partnerships (PPP), including the Guiding Principles on PPPs developed by the UNECE Working Group on PPP, innovation policy standards, as well as the application of these principles and standards in national infrastructure projects by countries of the region UNECE.
The delegation of Belarus supported the Committee’s work plan for 2020 which was developed by the Commission’s secretariat. During the meeting, Belarus was re-elected to the Committee’s bureau as Vice-Chairman. It reflects the recognition by the UNECE and the countries of the region of Belarus’ significant contribution to the development of the institute of PPPs and the practical application of UNECE standards in this area.
With the assistance of the Commission, the Public-Private Partnership Center has been established and operates in Belarus. The Center supports implementation of infrastructure projects in our country.
