On the participation of the Belarusian delegation at the 108th session of the ILC
17.06.2019The 108th session of the International Labor Conference (ILC) is going on from June 10 to June 21, 2019, in Geneva (Swiss Confederation) in the year of the Centenary of the International Labor Organization (ILO).
The Governmental Delegation of the Republic of Belarus headed by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Ms. Irina Kostevich took part in the Conference.
The ILC session examines the observance of fundamental principles and rights in the field of social and labor relations, decent work in the context of the transition to peace, labor migration and social equality, the eradication of child labor as well as women's labor rights.
The Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus Ms. Irina Kostevich presented her report in the plenary session of the 108th session of the ILC on the most important priorities of the state social policy of Belarus. The Minister took part in the session of the Committee on the Application of Standards.
On the margins of the current session of the ILC, the Head of the Governmental Belarusian delegation held bilateral meetings with the representatives of the Workers' and Employers' Group of the International Labor Organization, Special Adviser to the Director-General of the ILO K.Tapiola, the Director of the International Labor Standards Department K.Varga, as well as the Minister of Labour of Syria Rima al-Qadiri.
During the talks, the interest of the Government of Belarus in developing fruitful cooperation with the International Labor Organization was confirmed. The ILO is an important source of international expertise and best practices in the regulation of the world of work. Its norms and standards are systematically used by the Government of Belarus in the work to improve labor and social relations.
