Geneva hosts the 152nd session of the WHO Executive Board, which is attended by a delegation of the Republic of Belarus headed by Deputy Minister of Health — Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Belarus Aliaksandr Tarasenka.

Belarus was elected a member of the WHO Executive Board in May 2021 for the period 2021-2024.

The agenda of the session includes a number of important issues, such as: prevention of non-communicable diseases, infection control, elimination of meningitis, rehabilitation, standardization of the range of medical devices, etc.

In his statement, A. Tarasenko emphasized: “In the modern turbulent world, the issue of public health is especially relevant. Emerging health challenges only exacerbate negative trends in global politics and complicate sustainable development processes. And here it is important to unite efforts both at the global and regional levels.”
