On the meeting of the Chairman of the SCST Mr.Alexander Shumilin with UNECE Executive Secretary Ms. Olga Algayerova
02.10.2019On October 1, 2019, Mr. Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technologies, met with Ms. Olga Algayerova, the Executive Secretary of the UNECE, at the headquarters of the Commission in Geneva.
Mr. Alexander Shumilin noted the progressive dynamics of the development of cooperation between the Government of Belarus and the UNECE on innovations and innovation policy, and also informed the UNECE Executive Secretary about the measures taken by the Government of Belarus to improve national legislation in this area.
The parties discussed the implementation of the Memorandum between the SCST of Belarus and the UNECE on the implementation of the recommendations of the Second Review of Innovative Development of Belarus signed in February 2018 in Minsk, as well as the issues on conducting by the UNECE a subregional outlook of innovation policy for the Eastern Partnership countries, including Belarus.
Mr. Alexander Shumilin expressed interest in development in cooperation with the UNECE of the concept of “smart specialization” which will be aimed at ensuring the innovative development of Belarus.
